The Red Tsingy is not empty landscape. It sits on land that villages farm, and the conservation fee you pay at the gate goes to the association that keeps the rim clear and the tracks passable.

The descent
A gentle path from the rim to the riverbed, with the strata at eye level.

Weaving and tasting
Raffia work under the mango tree, then koba and cane juice before the walk back up.
